BLACK PEARLS
This was the first soft vinyl piece created by artist and BLACKPEARLS founder Josh Wang when he established his BLACKPEARLS soft vinyl gallery in 2020. It was during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic that the novel coronavirus spread worldwide, and HAPY was inspired by the "goblins of hell" and embodies Josh Wang's unique perspective on humanity.
This character conveys the message that "there is no absolute boundary between good and evil," and expresses the feelings of oppression, loneliness, and anxiety that many people felt at the time. Therefore, we named it "HAPY," a play on the English word "happy," with the hope of bringing positive feelings to people.
HAPY's cute appearance hides a philosophical question, and he has now become a symbol of BLACKPEARLS, loved by fans all over the world.
